Executive Counselling
You’ve worked hard to get where you are. You deserve to enjoy your work and feel confident in yourself and your success.
If you’re not where you want to be, executive counselling can help you discover what isn’t working for you and how to make meaningful change.
I have a special interest in working with clients in demanding careers and leadership positions who are looking for help with performance, stress management, or managing work/life balance issues.
Are you enjoying the fruits of your labour? Do you feel confident in what you’re doing? Are your leadership and interpersonal skills where they need to be? If not, together we can identify what areas need work and create a plan to get you where you need to go.
Are you unsure of what comes next? Are you struggling to find balance between your work and the rest of your life? Are your relationships suffering? Do you need a change? Are you doing great but finding that it’s at the expense of your health and well-being? If so, then we can work together to identify the steps that will lead you to living the life that you want and having relationships that are healthy and satisfying.
Professionals and executives often find themselves coping with unique challenges that others in their life may not fully understand. They often find themselves with limited sources for support while shouldering the burden of responsibility associated with their work or personal lives. Outwardly they have to demonstrate a competence in coping with whatever comes their way but inwardly may be struggling with dissatisfaction, workplace conflicts, insecurities, or may be dealing with difficult people. Repressing or ignoring these feelings can lead to the accumulation of stress and the toll on physical and mental health that follows.
Professionals and leaders experience extraordinary stress levels and burnout at extremely high rates. As a result, either their performance and/or their personal lives suffer. In order to successfully meet and transcend the stressors often encountered in business and professional roles, individuals need to establish effective coping strategies and develop the skills necessary to remain successful while managing the effects of stress.
Similarly, struggles in the personal realm can negatively impact work performance. Developing an understanding of the patterns that keep us stuck and the tools to overcome these patterns, can free us to pursue the success that we desire.
Common concerns that can be addressed include:
Coping with pressure, stress, or burnout
Finding work/life balance
Career transitions
Loss of motivation
Fear of failure
Lack of assertiveness skills
Difficult employees, colleagues, or associates
Issues with confidence
Performance anxiety
Conflict with management or business partners
Frustrating politics in the workplace
Dealing with difficult “personalities”
Struggling with career decisions
Rivalry and competition
Dealing with injustices in the workplace
Sex and attraction in the workplace
Executive counselling provides a confidential place to discuss pressing work problems or difficulties outside of work that are negatively impacting workplace performance. This type of process may be particularly helpful for leaders, business owners, and professionals who find themselves isolated in their organizations. The focus of this type of counselling is to find solutions that work and promote a sense of deep satisfaction with the life that you are living and the work that you are doing.
